YEAR OF THE AMARYLLIS

January 6, 2023 by Linda SE

Recently Carol O. shared an excellent article on Amaryllis.  These beautiful flowers are grown from bulbs and, with a vast array of colorful varieties, they can help to decorate and brighten homes during the winter season.  Today, I was happy to see that the National Garden Bureau has declared 2023 “The Year of Amaryllis”.  According to their website, “Each year the National Garden Bureau selects one annual, one perennial, one bulb crop, one edible, and one shrub as our “Year of the” crops. Plants are chosen because they are popular, easy-to-grow, widely adaptable, genetically diverse, and versatile.”  Click HERE for more information and beautiful pictures of Amaryllis.  -Linda SE
